Crim Family Home Build Project: Stilt House Plans
Crim Family Home Build Project: Stilt House Plans: We have decided to place our house on stilts instead of your usual cement foundation. There are a couple of reasons for this. ...
Stilt House Plans
- is because there are lots of trees and we want to be able to see that magnificent view.
- we can utilize more of the square footage by using the area of the sub-level to as a parking garage.
- Stilts can be more budget friendly.
**I added a couple of screen shots of our inspiration for our home. It will not be exactly like this but pretty similar. **
This picture below is from Coastal House Plans, I really like their stilt house plans!

we will be adding a wrap around porch and bigger windows that we have been collection for our build. The stairs will be much different too. We are still working that part out. |

Below is the first floor.
This is the 3rd floor plan
About our Project
Hello, Family & Friends!! As most of you all know by now, Chris and I finally took The Big Leap! We have finally invested in Properties. Yes! You read that right... 'properties' in the plural sense.
We have worked hard for the past few years to develop our vision by fully understanding our needs and desires as a family; then made it into a plan. Now we're working that plan to see it pass!
Our Vision and Desire:
We have worked hard for the past few years to develop our vision by fully understanding our needs and desires as a family; then made it into a plan. Now we're working that plan to see it pass!
Our Vision and Desire:
- To build our family home cash - no paying high fees, interest rates, payments, etc.
- invest our money into rental properties - creating passive income
- have a passive income of 15,000+ a month from investments.
Chris and I understand the importance of investing our money. After playing into the whole corporate - 401k, stocks, bonds, savings, debt, credit, hate your job but continue the job just to live a 'good quality lifestyle'... You know the spill! We soon realized our Return on Investment (ROI: money, time, people, etc) was minimal and not our ideal lifestyle. That's part of learning as you go, I guess... :)
Our Plan:
- have zero debt
- invest in properties with money earned from work
- collect materials to re-purpose for our family home (doors, window, lumber, tubs, sinks, cabinets, etc) anything that we can re-purpose for our home. ( I love to re-purpose things) Chris always says, 'we don't need that junk', when I bring something home that has potential with just a little TLC. However, after I finish the piece by giving it a new purpose, Chris sings a new tune. lol.
- be our own contractor by doing the work ourselves or hiring it out.
- Start building
We are currently in the process of collecting materials for our family-home and contributing towards our investment property as we go, as well. We look forward to sharing our journey with you and can't wait to deliver the final product... in hope to help others as well.
Our Family
However, if you just happen to stumble upon my blog and are already doing this... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
We are looking to break ground within another month, fingers crossed!
Here are Pics of the property.
